MissingI want to tell you a story.
But first, let me tell you two vital things about me.
I am seventeen years old. And I am a missing person.
I've been missing since I was about thirteen years old. I don't remember the very day that I disappeared. Just all of a sudden, one day, I didn't know where I was. I didn't know my name. I didn't know my life story. I didn't know my friends. I was completely and totally missing. I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it's been about five years since I went missing.
I am, physically, unharmed. I was in no accident or anything. I'm not an amnesia victim either, because there are many times that I'll remember very vivid parts of who I am and why I'm missing. Problem is, I don't have the energy to try to go find myself right now. I kind of like the missing feeling. I kind of like the feeling that nobody, including myself, knows where I am. It's a bit freeing.
I do not want to voluntarily go searching for myself. However, I want someone else to come find me. Deep inside, I think that's part of the reason I went missing. I wanted to test and see if anybody would be willing to find me. Odd thing is, I don't think anybody really realizes that I'm missing.
My parents have not come to search for me. They've been too busy with their jobs, my sister, and other "grown-up" obligations such as housework and car payments. I think they may have noticed when I first disappeared, and every now and again, I think my mom decides that she'd like to find me. However, as she has no idea where to look, she never even comes close. My dad is so oblivious and wrapped up in himself that he does not realize that his youngest child has disappeared.
My sister hasn't tried searching for me, either. I cannot blame her, actually. She started college when I was 15, and hasn't been around the house much either. She never really noticed when I disappeared. I think I disappeared around the time she was ready to graduate high school. She was so focused on her own friends and her own school obligations that, quite honestly, I don't believe she ever thought twice about where I could be. Now, she's too focused on what she wants to do with the rest of her life, and her boyfriend, to be too concerned with the fact that her little sister has completely gone missing.
Most of my friends have not even come searching for me. They haven't noticed I was missing. I think they were the ones I mostly wanted to notice that I was missing. I care about them the most, and they mean the most to me. I want them to realize that I'm gone. I want them to miss me! However, only two friends at this point truly understand that I am missing. Only two friends know that I am looking for myself, and that they should be looking for me too. However, like me, they don't exactly know where to find me. They've tried searching for me, but apparently, I'm being pretty uncooperative.
I am missing. I am completely totally missing.
The person I am today is not the person I was five years ago.
The person I was five years ago is totally missing! Completely and totally missing.
I don't even know why she's missing anymore.
But please...I need help finding her. I know she's there somewhere.
Doesn't anybody miss me?
Doesn't anybody care?
Doesn't anybody realize I'm gone?
I have been missing for five years, and not one soul has voluntarily come to find me.
I think I may just stay lost forever. As I said before, I do not have the energy or desire to voluntarily return.
But I do wish someone would come and find me.
I thought that you'd be here by now.
Isn't anyone trying to find me?
Won't somebody come take me home?
